Grúzia. Szakartvelo. Georgia

Georgia, the country is a singularly unique place. The food is amazing, the scenery various, from snowy mountains through bare flatland to seaside, the people inviting, the traditional dance insanely complicated and almost ballett-likely graceful, the writing beautifully curvy, the wine famous, the music uplifting. Here are some of the highlights of my Easter Week trip in 2017, including small clips of the Holy Saturday service beginning at 11 or 12 pm, with packed churches, full of choirs singing, "Halleluia" exclamations, and not ending till at least 3 or 4 am. The clips are from Batumi, Tbilisi, Kutaisi, the Azerbaijani border region, and many places in between.

Skopje 2018 January

Skopje from Budapest is just a short plane ride, quite cheap too. I went there for a long weekend in January, and had so much fun! Macedonian people are very friendly very quickly, music is awesome, traditional dresses varied and colourful (white red and black hues mostly, Beautiful weaving, interesting metal coin-like decoration galore, very unique). The city is full of bright white gigantic statues of historical figures. Sometimes you feel like you are in a monument park. There are great views from plces like the castle, and the canyon nearby. Museums contain treasure trove of ancient pottery and metalwork, even though most places make foreigners pay double for the entrance ticket. Food is great too, especially the pastry things, and, of course, my big find, salep. :)

Instead of a bunch of pictures, I made a short film of my experiences. So, here you go, contemporary Skopje:

Dear fellows, this is the cloudwatch Switzerland.


The clouds are pretty, white, and thin. Some mountains are visible, but mostly they are not...
Well, flying bove them was a pleasure. I sat at the windowseat, nobody in the middle, and a nice middle-aged woman near the corridor (she was afraid of flying... and went to Italy to visit a daughter who lives there. And she is from Zala, with a distinctive Szeged pronounciation)

Bergamo! Whatever you hear about it , Bergamo is even more beautiful! The town itself is 15 minutes far from the sirport. There is a Citta alta, Upper town, surrounded by walls and definitely middle ages, and one Lower town.


I climbed too the Citta alta first, at there begin a series of dreams coming true...When I could not decide where to go, a nice policeman recomended me a route of stairs without me even asking. Piu bella! :) When I wanted a picture to be taken, two nice Italian guys came and took one with me! When I wished for a toilet, I happened to stumble upon an empty university cafe... And once I accidentaly entered a theatre.. :)
Italian little towns are so beautiful! They are full of rooftops :) And buildinsg which look 16th c from the outside and 21th c from the inside...
Than I bumped intos some demonstration on the streets, and joined, beacuse marching on the street legally is fun :) They used drums and were mostly high school students.Well, than I travelled by train. Nobody even asked for my passport or ticket...
And arrived to Lugano, which was a bit misty, but nice, and had dinner and walked around...

Az Út

Szóval, az út érdekes volt. Mármint úgy érdekes, mint bitang-hosszan-tartó-mégis-sikerült-túlélni-és-még-láttunk-is-valamit érdekes. Én mondjuk élveztem.
Bécsbe az úton az Orange Ways-zel kaptunk ingyen fülhallgatót, forrócsokit, Magyar Nemzetet, és még filmet is vetítettek. Az első egy animációs film volt egy medvéről, akit egy női vadőr nevelt fel, de vissza kellett engedni őt a terészetbe, mert egy vad és teljesen hibbant szarvas kisbolt-vandalizmusra bíztatta. No meg ot a gonosz vadász, és perse a film legjobb fej szereplői, a nyulak :):)
A másik egy anyós-meny viszonyról szóló vígjáték volt amineka közepén le kellett szállni :(
Bécsben egy csomót vártunk, és közben többször megvertem Lancet pókerban. (Nem is beszélve arról a temérdek alkalomról, mikor ő engem...)
Az ablak melett ültem, és pont láttam, ahogy lemegy a nap a látóhatáron túlra...


Kaptunk ingyen szendvicset (sajtosat ettem), és üdítőt. de először a légikísérő fickó nem értette,mit akarok, és egy pohár paradicsomlevet adott... áááá (azért nem olyan rosz...) Midenesetre reptéri cuccgyűjteményünk 3 Air Berlines pohárral gyarapodott.
Az út alatt mindenféle komédiarészleteket, zenei ideókat adtak egy képernyőn, és többféle rádiócsatorna közül lehetett válogatni. Nem is ollyan rosssz!!!
Düsszeldorfban kicsit késtünk a hó miatt, de nem számotevően. Itt értaz a fura élmény, hogy egy lány ránk bízta a csomagját, amíg WC-re ment, csak azért mert hallotta, hogy magyarul beszélünk. Mit tesz az anyanyelv!!
Itt, életemben először, nem az ablak mellett ültem, hanem a folyosón. És, mert itt kissebb az előtted lévő széke alatti hely, sajna a táskám nem fért be! Szenvedtem vele még egy darabig, de aztán szerencsére kiderült, hogy a szomszéd oldalon csak egy fickó ül, ezért bekönyörögtem oda a tatyót.
A helsinki reptér szép. MOdja bár Douglas Adams, hogy "Airports are ugly. Some are very ugly." de it van karácsonyi kivilágítás (Naná, január 6-a ám a karácsonyi ünnepkör utolsó napja!), és parketta, és repülőgép-modell!

Szóval megjöttünk. Lance, Ákos, meg én, és Orsi is, aki a fél napot Düsszeldorfban töltötte. Ott várt ránk Nikolai Klix, aki a tutrunk lett. Furán fest, biztosan van valami születési rendellenessége, alacsony és a lába befelé fordul, a kezei meg mintha a vállából nőttek volna ki, de kdves fickó, és fejenként 2.50-ért betaxitat minket a szállásik. Ezért örök hála néki!
És még ott Lena, a svájci joghallgató, göndör szőke haja van, dohányzik, és néha rendkívül ironikus. Kedvelem.

Ó, és még nincs vége a kalandnak! Orsi kulcsait nem tudta felvenni András (az A-ból, hosszú, barna hajú, programozó, és mezítláb papucsban jött ki hozzánk a hóba), aki már 5-e óta itt van, ezért Orsi nálam aludt egy éjszakát. András segített felhozni a csomagokat, és hajnali 2-kor ittunk egy Welcome teát, hogy megünnepeljük, ITT VAGYUNK!
